By using Packetra services, you agree to these Terms of Service.
Packetra provides web hosting services including Shared Hosting, WordPress Hosting, and Cloud VPS. We operate servers in privacy-friendly jurisdictions, currently in Finland and Switzerland, with plans for continued expansion. All services are designed with privacy at their core.
Packetra operates across Tier-1 European datacenters in Finland and Switzerland. Complete network details, including upstream routing, IP ranges, and live diagnostic tools, are publicly available via our Looking Glass service, linked in our main navigation and on product configuration pages.
We publish this information as part of our commitment to transparent infrastructure disclosure. We encourage customers to verify that our network meets their project requirements including latency and routing prior to purchase using our publicly available tools.
When signing up, you must provide:
You are responsible for:
IMPORTANT: You are responsible for keeping your own recovery details (a working email address and a password you can recall). We do not require identity verification, and we have no objection to throw-away or alias email addresses β but if you lose your password and your recovery email is no longer accessible, we may not be able to restore the account for you, and your data may be lost as a result.
While we support freedom of expression and privacy, all content must comply with applicable laws in the jurisdictions where we operate.
The following are prohibited at every location we operate, regardless of jurisdiction, and will result in immediate suspension or termination:
Detailed rules β covering fraud and phishing, pharmaceutical restrictions, network abuse, Tor, torrents, VPN services, adult content, and copyright takedown procedures β are published separately in our Acceptable Use Policy.
Some rules differ by server location because we operate under different upstream provider policies and jurisdictions. You can view the policy for your location at:
By using our services you agree to both these Terms and the location-specific AUP for any server you order. Violations of the AUP are violations of these Terms.
We comply with valid court orders from the respective jurisdiction courts where you are hosted. We do not make legal judgments ourselves β we rely on the judicial system to determine what constitutes illegal content.

Your Responsibility: Keep your payment method current and ensure invoices are paid on time. We are not responsible for failed auto-renewals due to expired payment methods.
Submit cancellation requests through your client portal.
Warning: All files, emails, and data are permanently deleted upon cancellation and termination. This may be irreversible depending on service.
First-time Shared and WordPress Hosting customers receive a full refund if cancelled within 30 days of initial signup.
Guarantee excludes:
Non-refundable payment methods:
Refunds/Credits are processed within 2-4 business days. Transaction fees deducted from refund amount.
All domain registrations and renewals are final. No refunds or cancellations after registration.
We accept domain transfers from other registrars. Requirements vary by extension.
Domain registration is governed by ICANN (for gTLDs such as .com, .net, .org) and by individual country-code registries (for ccTLDs such as .nl, .it, .de, .fr, and others). Each registry sets its own data requirements outside our control.
Accurate registrant data. ICANN requires registrant details on all gTLD registrations to be accurate, and may at any time request verification of domain ownership. Failure to respond to a verification request can result in the domain being suspended. Certain ccTLDs go further β for example .nl, .it, and several other European extensions require verified registrant identity and may reject or take down domains where the data appears falsified or unverifiable.
What we pass on. We submit only the registrant data each registry requires. If you are unwilling or unable to provide a particular registry's required details, choose an extension whose requirements you can meet. See Section 12.1 β Data Minimization for our broader position on identity data at signup versus at the registry level.
WHOIS privacy. Where the registry permits, public WHOIS records can be redacted so they do not display your personal details. Some ccTLDs require the registrant's actual contact data to be published and do not allow WHOIS privacy. If concealment from public WHOIS matters for your project, confirm the chosen extension supports it before registering.
While we perform regular backups as a courtesy, YOU are ultimately responsible for your data.
Our backups can fail due to hardware issues, corruption, or catastrophic events. They're a safety net, not a replacement for your own backup strategy.
Critical: We are not liable for any data loss, even if our backup systems fail. Always maintain your own independent, off-site backups of critical data.
Use backup plugins (WordPress), download database dumps, or use third-party backup services that store data outside our infrastructure.
Uptime is based on server availability and web service responsiveness, not individual website or application performance.
If we fail to meet our uptime guarantee, contact support with downtime details for credit consideration. Final approval of any crediting is at the discretion of Packetra
Our 99.9% uptime guarantee applies to Shared and WordPress hosting only. Any other hosting service may have a different uptime guarantee.
Each plan includes:
If you exceed limits:
Fair Usage: We use CloudLinux LVE technology to ensure each account gets its fair share of resources without affecting other customers.
Email accounts included with hosting are for legitimate correspondence only.
Anti-Spam: Accounts found sending spam will be immediately terminated for violation of our TOS.
To protect the integrity of our network and prevent unsolicited mail abuse, outbound connections on port 25 (unauthenticated SMTP) are disabled by default on all virtual servers.
Requests to enable this port are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. To be considered, your VPS must satisfy at least one of the following:
In addition to meeting the above, a clear and legitimate business reason must be provided at the time of the request. Requests without justification will not be approved.
For most legitimate sending needs, we recommend using a dedicated transactional email provider such as MailGun or SparkPost. These services offer improved deliverability, authentication support, and reputation management often outperforming direct SMTP delivery.
No Refunds: Port 25 restrictions are a network-level security measure, not a service defect. Refunds will not be issued on the grounds that this port is unavailable on your server.
We use ConfigServer Security & Firewall (CSF) which provides advanced protection including brute-force detection, login failure blocking, and automated threat response to help keep your account safe.
Important: You remain responsible for all activity under your account, including any unauthorized access resulting from compromised or shared credentials.
We respect your privacy and do not share customer information for marketing purposes.
Services offered under this brand are provided by one or more affiliated entities. The applicable service provider is identified during checkout and on invoices, and may vary depending on the product purchased.
We comply with valid court orders from the respective jurisdiction courts where you are hosted. When legally permitted, we notify affected customers of such requests.
Certain support requests of a sensitive or security-related nature may require verification of account ownership.
After your first paid order with us, your receipt is shared with an independent review platform so they can invite you to share feedback about your experience. The invitation typically arrives about a week after the transaction. This happens only once β for your first purchase β and subsequent orders are never re-shared.
If you'd rather not receive a review invitation, an opt-out option is presented during checkout. The choice is yours and doesn't affect anything else about your service.
See our Privacy Policy for complete details.
No KYC at signup. Packetra does not perform identity verification or "Know Your Customer" (KYC) checks at any stage of signup, purchase, or ongoing hosting service. We do not require government-issued ID, selfies, address verification, or any document confirming your real-world identity to obtain or maintain a hosting account.
Minimum data collected. At signup we require only a working email address and a password. Contact details (name, address, phone) are optional and default to placeholder values if you choose not to provide them. We do not verify the accuracy of optional contact information.
Domain registration is an exception. Domain registration is governed by ICANN and individual country-code registries (ccTLDs), which set their own data requirements outside our control. Some extensions (for example .nl, .it, and certain European ccTLDs) require accurate registrant details and may verify them. We pass on only what the registry requires; if you are unwilling to provide such details, choose an extension that does not require them. See Section 6 β Domain Registration for related policy.
Data retention. We retain account and service data for as long as the account is active. For terminated accounts, we retain billing and invoice records for the period required under the operating entity's tax and accounting laws. Beyond that window, account metadata may be retained β we do not automatically purge inactive or terminated accounts. Customers who want their personal data removed can request deletion at any time, and we will honour such requests in accordance with applicable data-protection law (including the GDPR right to erasure), subject to records we are legally required to keep.
We reserve the right to change prices at any time. Routine price changes apply to new orders and to renewals β they do not affect customers within their current prepaid billing period.
In rare cases where our underlying cost to deliver a service rises materially and unexpectedly during a customer's prepaid billing period β for example, a substantial increase in upstream bandwidth, datacenter, energy, licensing, or regulatory pricing outside our control β we reserve the right to adjust the price of that service mid-term.
When this clause is invoked:
This clause is a backstop against sudden, sustained cost shocks outside our control β it is not intended for, and will not be used for, routine repricing. Routine price changes happen at renewal under the standard process above.
We reserve the right to:
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
Packetra is not liable for:
Services provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Packetra from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
Important: If your account is hacked due to weak security practices on your end (weak passwords, outdated scripts, vulnerable plugins), you are responsible - not us. We provide the infrastructure and security tools; you are responsible for using them properly.
For most violations, we'll contact you first to resolve the issue if unintentional. However, we reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate accounts without prior notice for severe violations including:
Refunds: Accounts terminated for Terms violations are not eligible for refunds. You may lose access to your account and data immediately upon termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the respective jurisdiction depending on your chosen server location.
Disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unsuccessful, disputes may be brought before courts in the applicable jurisdiction.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the complete agreement between you and Packetra.
By using our services, you agree to these Terms of Service.
